Currently we only ship in the Contiguous USA as we do not have the carrier support to go worldwide.
Do you offer a military discount?
We here at Degree 33 love the military and what you do to protect and serve our country. We realize that we would not be able to do what we do, if you didn't do what you do with your commitment to service and sacrifice. All Military personnel will receive 10% off your total order. (This cannot be combined with other sales or offers- we will give you the bigger discount) Simply present your Military ID if you come to pick up your board here at the shop. If you are ordering online, you will need to email a copy of your ID to receive this discount. ID name must match the name on the order.
Can you ship to an APO address?
Unfortunately surfboards cannot be shipped to APO addresses or other similar military post addresses because the US Postal Service will not handle packages as big as boards. However, if you are only looking to purchase accessories, those can be shipped to military addresses.

Do your surfboards have a warranty?
We warranty our boards for any manufacturer defect for 30 days from the original date of purchase. If you feel that your board has a manufacturer issue, please take pictures and forward them to surf@degree33.com. If we determine that the cause of the damage was indeed a manufacturer defect we will resolve the issue in whatever manner is appropriate- repair or replacement. Please note, even though you may feel that the manufacturer is at fault, it may be determined that the damage was caused by pilot error, and in these cases, the responsibility may be yours.
Each board we build goes through 2 levels of quality control before it is ever delivered to the customer. We do this to insure that every board we build meets our quality guidelines. It is our reputation on the line if your new stick doesn't live up to your expectations. However, because surfing is an extreme sport taking place in an always changing and unpredictable environment, there are certain types of damage that we cannot warranty once the customer has taken possession of their new board. Following is a list of these types.
1. All of the following types of damage can happen at any point and in ANY size surf. Even really small waves have been known to create enough hydraulic pressure to snap brand new boards.
- Broken or buckled boards
- Breaking of fins or the fin boxes
- Cracking or warping of board resins
2. We cannot warranty any damage caused by exposure to heat and UV. All boards can be damaged by the sun and it is our policy to recommend that anytime your board is not in use, it is stored in a reflective and padded board bag to prevent de-lamination.
3. Lastly, pressure dents from sustained or elevated pressure is commonplace for surfboards. All surfboards can dent with pressure from feet, knees, elbows, or any other firm surface.
Damage to your board is part of owning a surfboard. Although we take very effort to create a product that is resistant to breakage, keeping your board perfect will only happen if you hang it on the wall and leave it there. :)
Who is your shaper?
Degree 33's master shaper and board designer is 50+ year board building veteran Bill Minard from San Diego, CA. Bill has shaped for some of the top names in surfboard building to include Donald Talayama, Gordon & Smith and Channin Surfboards.
Why are your boards less expensive than some seen in shops?
There are a couple of reason for this. Our business model is the primary reason we can keep our prices low. Because we go straight from the shaping room to you, we cut out the additional markup necessary for your local shop to stay in business. Secondly, we operate out of a warehouse aprox. 5 miles from the beach, so our overhead costs are reduced.
Where are your boards made?
This depends on construction. Poly boards are primarily made right here in San Diego, CA and our Epoxy boards are made overseas. Regardless of where they are built though, all our boards are made by skilled surfboard craftsmen.
Do you rent boards or can I demo one?
Demos are something we offer if you are interested in a purchase, give us a call at the shop to discuss the options. We also offer a membership called the Degree 33 Surf Club where you have access to a 30+ board quiver for unlimited use and exchange for a monthly fee.
Where does Degree 33's name come from?
Great question, let us show you.
Can I ship my order to a freight forwarder?
Yes you can. We have done this several times for customers in Central America. However, you need to be aware that once the freight changes hands from our shipping company to your forwarder, our insurance that covers your board for shipping damage no longer applies. So what that means is, if your board arrives to it's final destination damaged for any reason, it won't be covered for repair or replacement.
If you're concerned about this then make sure your forwarder opens and inspects the package before they send it on to the final destination.
