We start with one of our best selling models personally hand shaped right here in San Diego by our master shaper Bill Minard. Then before the glassing takes place, we have a local artist come in and do a custom one-of-a-kind paint job on it.
What you end up with is a one-off unique piece of art that could easily hang on the wall but it's ready to go and rip a wave because they come fully setup and ready to surf.
Because there's only one made, once that board is sold, it will not be duplicated. Let us repeat that. The board you see below is 1 of 1. Once the board below sells you cannot get another.
The good news is that as soon as this one sells we'll pick a new shape and artist and do another one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
For those of you who have been to our San Diego warehouse you will recognize this guy as the go to guy for helping walk in customers. What you may not know is that he is also responsible for most the shipping we do, repairing all of the dinged up boards we see, building hands planes in his back yard, and receives credit for having the best hair at the shop.
Garek Hurt (like Derrik with a G) is a San Diego native, 20+ year surfer, and the one who designed this 4th edition of our Signature Series. He oozes creativity (probably more so that we give him credit for), and when we asked if he wanted to design a board for this series he jumped at the chance.
Starting with a hand shaped Poacher, he went to work without much of a plan and knew he would figure it out as he went. What resulted is a one-of-a-kind egg nicknamed the "Mint Chip Drip".
One of the most popular shapes around the warehouse, the Poacher is a go to when the waves are mushy and you're feeling like vibing it out but don't want to take a longboard.
This board paddles into anything you want it to with minimal effort and turns even the most placid days on the water into a score... you may even be able to get a cheater 5 in if you have the chops.
At 6’10" x 21 5/8" x 2 5/8" this egg will provide you plenty of float and just may become your go-to ride with the swell isn't firing.
