If a Used Surfboard is On Your Radar, You May Need To Reconsider

February 23rd, 2011 by Luc Stokes

used surfboards - good deal or good griefWe received a call the other day and it reminded us of why you have to be so careful when purchasing a used board.

This guy had just bought a used board from someone he found on craigslist. He was in a hurry to get it, so he went over to this guys house to pick it up.

Well, by the time he got there it was getting dark and so he looked the board over under the street lights. After a good inspection (as good as can be done in the dark) he thought it looked ok and paid the guy for the board.

The Surfer Diet – Things you need to consider if you want to reach peak performance.

January 11th, 2011 by Rob

Surfer DietLike any other sport, surfing can be done casually…

You wake up at noon and mosy on over to the beach for a weekend rip sesh with a few buddies. Afterwards you grab an In-N-Out Burger, fries, and a chocolate shake and spend the rest of the afternoon napping.

And there’s nothing wrong with that picture.

But like any other sport, when you want to take it to the next level, you have to start doing all the hard stuff. That’s right, the dawn patrol, the extra workouts, the diet—you know the drill. The nice part about surfing is that it can be done in any physical condition, but of course the better shape you’re in the more radical your potential becomes.

Surfing can be very very casual, or very challenging and competitive—it all depends on what you hope to get out of it. Read the rest of this entry »

Tips on Cleaning Your Wetsuit

December 7th, 2010 by Rob

Does your wetsuit smell like an angry homeless raccoon has taken up residence inside?

Does chopping onions no longer bother you because the experience is small peanuts in the face of the fumes emanating from your suit?

Does it appear as though you are incessantly weeping while you surf because you ACTUALLY ARE due to the prodigious stench of your trusty wetsuit?
