So here’s the gist—it’s a fin that automatically tilts itself to adjust the cant so your board turns better, suffers less drag, and has a looser tail. The fin is MOTORIZED (how wild is that??) and a little watch battery is all it needs to calibrate itself to give you hot turning action.
We can’t say whether this is the next big thing or a complete dud…well…because no one outside of Firewire has had a chance to ride this thing—but that hasn’t stopped it from being a controversial little bugger.

I came across this video today and thought it was kinda cool… maybe because I’m more of a skier than snowboarder (before you get on my case, I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and my Dad was a professional skier), but more likely because this is just plain cool. We have an event here in San Diego every year called the Surf Dog Surf-a-Thon. It’s a fundraiser for a local dog shelter that draws over 4000 spectators. Anyway, this event is all about your dog on a surfboard surfing the waves here in San Diego… I know, crazy huh.
This event was just a little bit ago and it got me thinking; everybody is so careful when taking their children to the ocean, but I wasn’t sure if everyone was as careful when bringing their dog. I mean for most people, your dog is another member of your family so you need to make sure you and they are prepared. Here is a quick article on making sure your dog is safe at the beach.
